The week of Feb. 24-March 2 is America Saves Week. After reading about this initiative at Wise Bread, I decided to check it out for myself.
AmericaSaves is a national campaign involving more than 1,000 non-profit, governmental and corporate groups whose mission is to encourage Americans to save money (my kind of organization!). The site has some down-to-earth, easy-to-follow strategies for saving money. It doesn’t matter how much money you have (or don’t have)…. you
can save money. And the site shows you how even a little bit of money saved can add up.
AmericaSaves has good information on making major purchases, saving money, establishing an emergency fund, and getting out of debt. I also liked the
feature that calculates both your current and future net worth. It’s an exercise worth doing if you’ve never thought about it before.
