Get postage online. Using the United States Postal Service website, you can print your own postage or order stamps and have them delivered to your door. No need to rush off to the post office.
I can shop online. And it is amazing what you can find online. From groceries
I can be entertained. I can watch television shows, read just about anything, listen to music, and so much more.
I can be educated. There is a vast array of online courses, ones that are free and geared toward the hobbyist, and those that will help you on your way to a college degree.
I can earn money. By completing surveys, signing up for affiliate programs, and more. Read about ways I make money online here.
These are just some quick examples of things you can do using the internet to avoid spending money on gas.

Internet Limits My Need to Travel

I work from home online. My employer allows me to work 8 hours per week from home so I save the cost of driving to town and daycare one day a week.
Have you ever bought groceries from Amazon? How do the prices compare when you factor in shipping? I don't suppose there's any way you can use coupons?
I've bought a few things from Amazon Grocery. The key is to know your unit prices. I've gotten things for the same price or less than at a store, if I pay attention. No coupons unfortunately, but if you spend more than $25, you get free shipping. Where I live, if a package doesn't fit in my mailbox, I have to drive to town to get it, so I have to take that into consideration, too!
This is a great post! I do pretty much everything online, too. My favorite is keeping in touch ... now that email and other online communication makes it so easy to stay in touch with friends and family who are far away, I sometimes forget how much long distance calling costs. The Internet makes it easy to stay in touch with everybody for a LOT cheaper!

All of the reasons you cited are what allow me to be a SAHW. But more than that, no "overhead" of working...car, auto insurance, wardrobe, etc, etc. There are loads of perks like not having to wear pantyhose too!
