Purple States: See Main Street’s Economy

During the last election, we heard a lot of politicians mentioning Main Street and how Wall Street is affecting Main Street.

I never really got the sense that the politicians every really understood what the economic crisis means to the people of this country.

Thankfully, they can watch Purple States. Purple States is a “people-powered, professionally-produced” site that is currently taking a close look at the current economic crisis. You can read more about their mission here.

Purple States is currently running a feature called “50 Bloggers, 50 States, 50 Days: A Cross-Country Conversation about the Economy.”

The Purple States Team has selected one blogger from each of the 50 states to do a short video (vlog) about the economic conditions where they live. My husband is representing Minnesota. Be sure to check out all of the videos – the diversity of the group is fascinating, as are the conversations, and it will give you a real glimpse into what’s happening on Main Street.
