Frustrated By Talk of Digital TV Switch Delay

The Senate has voted to delay the switch from analog to digital television until June. Fortunately, the House has voted it down, but I’m sure the discussion is not over yet.

I’ve been watching the national news and reading some of the discussion in the blogosphere about the proposed delay, and the more I read, the more it frustrates me.

I think there has been PLENTY of time for folks to prepare for the switch. Since when should it be the government’s job to ensure Americans have television? Last time I checked, television was NOT a necessity.

To me, this is just another example of government continuing to coddle people.

We keep bailing out people who don’t take responsibility for anything – whether it is their overspending, their disregard for the environment, or access to television programming.

Frustrating!
