Shoes are expensive. As long as your feet haven’t outgrown them, there are ways to make your shoes last longer.
Protect your shoes. There are inexpensive sprays on the market that will help protect your leather shoes, and other types of products that will fight stains on fabric shoes. Check your local shoe store or discount department store for products.
Keep your shoes clean. Cleaning your shoes and keeping them out of snow and water will help them last longer. When you know you’ll be outside in the outdoor elements consider rain boots or galoshes that you can change once you’re on dry ground.
Buy new laces. Just putting in new shoe laces can give your old shoes a fresh look.
Inserts can help. Sometimes old shoes start to lose some of their comfort. You can improve your old shoes with simple inserts you can get at any discount department store.
Shine them up. Get some shoe polish and shine up those shoes. They’ll look brand new.
The bottom line is this: Buy the best footwear you can afford. Quality footwear fits better, looks better, and lasts longer.
