One of my New Year’s resolutions was to start an exercise program. I’ve exercised more this year than last – thanks to Wii Fit – but I’ve still got a ways to go before I could be considered a regular exerciser.
I’m hoping I can change that with my latest purchase, EA Sports Active. I bought this “game” last week using Amazon gift card money I earned from Swagbucks (so it was free for me!). I’m excited about this game because it’s a powerful motivator when it comes to exercise.
EA Sports Active is exactly what it claims: it’s a personal trainer in a box. The game comes with a resistance band and a leg strap for holding the Wii nunchuk.
There are dozens of fabulous exercises and you can create a custom workout, or follow a set plan. I love that there is a mix of strength training and aerobic exercises as well as fun games like tennis, basketball, and volleyball. In just 20-30 minutes a day, you can tone your body and lose weight. This game is a lot of fun, and it’s a great workout.
Once you get past the cost of the Wii, EA Sports Active is cheaper than a gym membership and far less money than you would spend on a personal trainer. The first few times I’ve used it have left me feeling challenged and exhilirated. Just what you want in a workout program!
I’ll be participating in the game’s 30 day challenge starting Monday, June 1. I plan to stop by the WiiMommies forums and the EA Sports Active forums for help and support as I make the journey to finally get in shape.
I hope you’ll join me in the challenge!
