There are so many things I do to stretch my budget. I might use a few Swagbucks to buy a gift, fill out surveys to earn some extra cash, or watch a few videos to bring in some money.
One thing I’ve recently taken an interest in is blog giveaways. Public Relations firms and companies all over the world are spreading the word about their products by getting them into the hands of bloggers (like me, for instance). These bloggers are giving away thousands of great prizes – both big and small – on their blogs every day.
Most blog giveaways have only have a few easy requirements, such as commenting on a post or filling out a form. Others might ask you to promote their blog or subscribe to their e-mail newsletter.
What I’ve found is that for a few minutes of your time each week, you can win some neat stuff.
Here’s what I’ve won recently:
- A Fiber One Gift Basket that included a fitness journal, pedometer, food scale, water bottle, and coupon for free Fiber One yogurt from $5 Dinners.
- A $5 gift certificate to The Coupon Master from The Good Deal Gal. This prize may not seem like much, but if you’ve ever shopped at The Coupon Master you know that $5 can snag you a lot of savings!
- 6 cans of Barbasol shaving cream from Buck’s Blog. Who couldn’t use free shaving cream?
Of course, there are bigger blog giveaways out there…. just check out Freebies4Mom to see some of the giveaways she shares with her readers. Many of the blogs in my link list host regular giveaways and allow other bloggers to promote their giveaways on their sites, so be sure to check them out.
Winning things from a blog giveaway can give you a thrill… you know… the same kind of thrill you get from shopping therapy. Only this time, you won’t suffer from buyer’s remorse!
It’s fun to win and know that you’ve helped stretch your money at the same time.
When looking for blog giveaways – be sure to make sure it is a legitimate giveaway . Look for contact information on the blog, and if a prize seems to good to be true, stay away. I tend to avoid giveaways that ask too much personal info, so you’ll have to decide how much you want to disclose.
I also think about others when I’m surfing for giveaways. I may not want a particular prize, but if I won it, I may be able to give it to a family member or friend as a gift or donate it to a worthy cause.
Obviously – we can’t all be winners. But I’ve also found some great blogs that I may not have read otherwise. And that’s worth something, too.
And did I mention I have a few giveaways going on right now? Check them out here!
