When Wise Bread recently posted it was looking for people to review it’s new book “10,001 Ways to Live Large on a Small Budget
,” I jumped at the chance.
I’ve been a big fan of Wise Bread for years. Their writers have challenged me and inspired me in my quest to live a frugal life.
Their new book did not disappoint! One of the things that impressed me right away is that this book is in full color. The book’s design is a joy to read because it’s broken up into convenient bite-size sections and lists.
And it doesn’t just look pretty. This book is chock full of great ideas on every aspect of your life – from travel to health and beauty, entertaining to dressing for success. I especially enjoyed the essays “8 Endurance Principles for Staying the Frugal Course,” and “How to Get Rid of Your Junk.”
What I loved about this book was that it brought me back to that feeling I had when I first read Amy Dacyczn’s The Complete Tightwad Gazette. I felt excited, inspired, and empowered to know that there were many people like me who were just trying their best to live within their means. To me, this book feels like a modern (and shorter) version of The Complete Tightwad Gazette. Wise Bread’s 10,001 Ways to Live Large on a Small Budget
is a terrific resource for those looking to use the internet to unlock great deals. Even those who consider themselves frugal zealots will learn a new trick or two!
This book is written by several writers of Wise Bread (the top personal finance blog on the internet), but you would never know it wasn’t written by one person. The writers share a common voice: down-to-earth and helpful.
I recommend checking this book out from your local library… but if you do decide to buy it (and I think it is well worth buying), I can share a couple of tricks to help you get a good deal on it.
First, you can buy it at Amazon for $10.17 – which is a fabulous price. Sign up for Swagbucks and you’ll only need to earn 135 Swagbucks to get it for free.
You can also order this book through Ebates. If you’ve never used Ebates before, you’ll get a $5 bonus just for signing up and making your first purchase. Log in to Ebates and order through Barnes and Noble or Borders and you’ll get 4 percent cash back on your order.
Happy Reading!
