I'm a big believer in the idea that little things can add up. I pick up pennies off the sidewalk and squeeze the last little bit of toothpaste out of the tube.
So I love the idea of YouData. YouData pays you for checking out websites targeted at your interests. It only takes a couple minutes a week, and the best part is, you get paid every Friday via Paypal.
Simply sign-up for YouData and enter some information about yourself in your "Me-File" (or profile). You Data will then show you websites or advertisements that you may be interested in based on your responses. You get paid for every website you visit. You can also earn additional funds for each person you refer to You Data.
All you need to collect your money is a PayPal account. You'll get paid every week you view the ads.
The money isn't a lot...I've made just over $20 in the last two months. But it only took me a few minutes of time, and I found some interesting websites, too. It's money I didn't have before and it didn't take any work to get it, so why not? I love that you don't have to wait until you meet a certain pay threshold before you get your money. The money I earn each week is deposited into my Paypal account every Friday!
Don't forget, once you sign up for YouData and start earning money, you can refer your friends and family and earn some extra cash.
Happy Saving!

I keep seeing things like this, or mystery shoppers, but I am terrified of giving my information to anyone for fear of identity theft. How do you check them out?
First, off, let me say that I would never recommend things here that I haven't or wouldn't do myself.
There's a few things I do when I sign up for these kinds of things - I read their privacy policy and terms of use - if I don't agree with it, I don't sign up. I also do a Google search to see what other folks are saying about a service.
You should never, ever pay money to join. If they want your credit card number, stay away! I did give my cell phone number to You Data, but to date they have not done anything with it.
Ultimately, you have to decide how much information you want to give out about yourself. For me, I'm fine with giving basic demographic information/data they could get from doing a little search on me anyway.
How about my other readers? What do you think?
I really wish I could join, however I don't own a cell phone and have no intention of getting one. I can't join until they can send me a text message to verify my account - which isn't going to happen. Bummer! I hope they change this in the future to enable non-cellphone users to join, because otherwise I would.
@Valerie - Have you every tried MyPoints.com? You earn points for reading e-mails, looking at websites and using their shopping portal. The points can be cashed in for gift cards. I've never made a purchase (only read the e-mails/looked at sites) and have been able to earn many gift cards. Worth checking out if you don't already do it!
I have been a member of mypoints for many years, but thanks, you are right it's a good one :)
