You Win Some, You Lose Some

Yesterday, I had just over an hour to kill while one of my sons was at preschool.

Since of course it was the day before our payday, cash was a little on the light side, but I decided that if I really worked the coupons and deals, I could probably pick up a few things we needed for not a lot of money out of pocket.

Unfortunately, my shopping trip didn’t go as I’d planned.

Some of the deals I wanted to do weren’t possible because the store didn’t carry the item or it was out of stock.

I had to argue with the clerks and managers  at two different stores to get them to accept my coupons (one of those deals I just ended up voiding because they wouldn’t take my completely legitimate coupon for the correct product).

Every store I went to had an incredibly long line.

I forgot my reusuable shopping bags.

And I forgot to give a clerk a coupon for one item, so I ended up paying full price for something.

Needless to say, it was a frustrating experience.

But here’s the thing:  I’m not going to let it get me down.  I still managed to score some great deals yesterday and I’m proud of the fact that I didn’t make an impulse purchases.

Sometimes the deals don’t always play out like you plan, but you can’t let that stop you from trying your best.
