Happy Mother’s Day! I’ll be spending the day with my family, and I hope you get the chance to do the same.
I’m grateful that my family honors me with their actions, and not things. It means so much more to me to share a special meal with my loved ones and receive a homemade card, than it does to get fancy gifts or flowers.
Anyway… here are some things I’ve been reading this week:
Frugal Dad has a list of 44 Ways to Ruin Your Financial Life, which is one of the best frugal living posts I’ve read as of late. A must read!
One of my favorite bloggers over at the MSN Smart Spending Blog now has a blog of her own called Surviving and Thriving. Love it! I can totally relate to her post I glean ketchup packets, so what?! I’ve actually used ketchup packets to make meatloaf once… but that’s another story…
And another post I can relate to – this one from Finance for Freelance Life: Moving Past Wasteful Frugality. I’ve been guilty of being more of a Cheapskate than I’d like to admit!
It’s sad to say, but a lot of kids are missing out on these 100 Essential Home Ec Lessons You Should Have Learned in School at OnlineClasses.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about getting rid of the clutter in our lives. There are a few new tips in Get Your Garage Ready for Summer at Unclutterer.
And speaking of clutter… I learned a lot from Being an Example: Helping Our Kids Get Organized by Modeling It For Them at Simple Kids.
I wish I’d read The 1-Cent Cell Phone Protector and Other Hacks at Wise Bread before I paid an embarrassing amount of money for my phone’s screen protector.
Now shut off your computer and go spend some time with your family!
