One of the most frugal ways to grow your child’s home reading library is by purchasing books from the Scholastic Book Club.
Your child receives quality children’s books at very reasonable prices, and your child’s school earns credits from the sale that can be turned into books for your child’s school.
But did you know that there are other ways to get free books from Scholastic?
Right now there are several promotions going on that you may want to check out:
Purchase one bottle of Resolve In-Wash Stain Remover product and get a free copy of The Secret Shortcut by Mark Teague by mail. Offer ends when 2,000 free books have been claimed or Nov. 30, 2010, whichever comes first.
Purchase Clifford Gummy Vitamins and get a free copy of Clifford’s Family via mail-in rebate. Be sure to use this coupon for Clifford Gummy Vitamins. Mail 1 UPC from any Clifford Vitamins product along with your name, mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address to: Hero Nutrional Book Offer, 557 Broadway, PO Box 711, New York NY 10012. Offer ends when 1,000 books have been awarded or Nov. 30, 2010, whichever comes first.
Purchase a Wahl Home Hair Clipper product and get copy of the book Aaron’s Hair by Robert Munsch after mail-in rebate. Send the original UPC from any Wahl home hair clipper product with your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address to: Wal CLipper Book Offer, 557 Broadway, PO Box 711, New York, New York 10012. Offer ends when 1,000 books have been claimed or January 31,2011, whichever happens first.
Note: The sponsors of these book promotions have the right to substitute other children’s titles.
In addition, Scholastic Book Club is also launching a new online book ordering program. For every order you place online at Scholastic.com, your child’s school will receive a free children’s book (up to $3 value). You’ll save time, save trees, and your child’s school will benefit when you order online. You’ll need your school’s special code, so contact the Scholastic Book Club coordinator at your child’s school for details.

We order books through Scholastic online through DD’s preschool. It’s great that the preschool earns extra books. Then they have more books to read the kids, plus they use those free books to give each child in preschool one at Christmas time and also when new babies are born in our community they give them a book & a bib with school colors & mascot. They call it the “Books & Bibs Program” . I love it!
