There are two things I am always looking for: Things that save me time and things that save me money.
I recently got the chance to try two products that fit this bill: The Grill Daddy Pro and CoverMate Food Covers.
The Grill Daddy Pro is a handy tool to help you clean your gas grill. Grill Daddy uses the power of steam to clean, which makes a tedious task easier. It doesn’t need any batteries – just add water and then use it to clean your hot grill. The heat from the grill forms steam that lifts the grease and food bits off your grill. You can also use it on a cold grill as a regular grill brush – but you won’t get that fun steam action.
I like that the brush head can be thrown in the dishwasher for easy cleaning. The Grill Daddy Pro is a little big, but it does have a nice handle with a hook on it to hang by your grill for convenient storage.
CoverMate Food Covers are a more eco-friendly solution to plastic wrap. The Covermate covers are BPA-free and PVC-free and designed specifically for covering food and are made from FDA compliant food safe materials.
The best part: The covers are reusable, microwaveable and dishwasher safe, and come in four sizes that stretch to fit over any size plate.
Every summer I always find myself making a big bowl of pasta salad and not having a lid to cover it until it’s time for the picnic. I despise using plastic wrap because I can never seem to get it off the roll without it sticking to itself and then it ends up getting thrown away in a messy little ball. The CoverMate food covers are easy to use – just stretch them over the top of your bowl and you’re ready to go. Then you can wash them by hand or toss them in the dishwasher to clean them. You can use them about 10 times before they wear out, which at $3.95 a set makes them much more economical and environmentally friendly. Not to mention there’s no wrestling involved to cover your food!
