And it’s out in 3D in theaters this weekend, and I would love to go, but it’s just not in the cards.
Money is a bit tight at our house. First there’s all the usual supsects – higher gas prices, increased grocery prices, etc.
And then there are the unexpected problems. When we were getting our garage door replaced after my hubby backed into it, our carpenter noticed an unrelated probelm. A major problem. One of our garage walls was bowing outward and the cement block has slid almost completely off the foundation. We suspect, but can’t confirm that the block may not have been anchored properly when the garage was built eight years ago. And we added a wall full of industrial shelving which we loaded to the gills. The combination was just too much for the structure.
It has to be dealt with as soon as possible.
The original contractor has long since retired, and quite honestly, spending all our energy fighting with him about that is just too much for us at the moment. So we’re searching for a new contractor that can help us fix our problem.
Scary. Because we don’t have any idea what it could cost.
It was devastating news to us, as we were finally feeling like we were getting caught up and we were finally starting to rebuild our savings.
So I’ll be watching Finding Nemo at home this weekend. And I will be reminded to “Just Keep Swimming.”
Because that’s all you can really do. Just keep going. Just keep trying. Just keep moving forward.
We’ll get to where we want to be eventually, even though it may take a little longer than we had planned.

Thank you for sharing this! It’s so easy to just put the good stuff on your blog and keep the not-so-pretty stuff private. I think it’s awesome that you share your struggles as well as your triumphs. It makes you seem so much more real to those who only know you online. Good luck with your garage! Hopefully it will be an easy(ish) fix!
