Another Update 6/25: Thanks to a tip from A Full Cup, I found that if I went back and signed up with a new account (and different e-mail), I then got a message saying my welcome kit with the $5 coupon was on its way). It's worth a shot, anyway!!
Update 6/25: Well, I don't know about you... but the early bird must get up REALLY early, because despite getting up before sunrise, I was not able to get the $5 off coupon..... when I did sign up, the website did say they would mail me a $1 off coupon. So, at least it's something....
In conjunction with the release of Anita Renfroe's new video, Luvs Diapers will be giving away a $5 off coupon here.
There's a limited supply of coupons and the giveaway starts at 5 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, so be sure to get up early to get yours!
Luvs and mom-comedienne Anita Renfroe - known for her “Total Momsense” song to the tune of the William Tell Overture that became a YouTube sensation and her appearances on Good Morning America - have teamed up to show parents that there is a way to get through today's changing economic times without losing their minds, wallets or sense of humor!
The video is cute and funny, and the details of the coupon deal are at the end, so it's worth watching.
Good luck and stay tuned to Northern Cheapskate for a future Luvs giveaway!

Get Rebates on Huggies and More
Now you can save even more money on diapers and other products through mail-in-rebates.
Caregivers Marketplace works with manufacturers to offer cash back to anyone who purchases products like Nature Made vitamins, Huggies, Ensure, Ecotrin aspirin, IcyHot, HoMedics products and many more.
The rebates range from 50 cents to $10.00 and can be combined with store sales and coupons for even bigger savings. It is completely free to participate. I noticed that you can get $1 back on a pack of Huggies.
Basically, buy five qualifying items, fill out the form from the website and send it in with your receipts. You'll get your cash back in 4-6 weeks.
You can check out the FAQ's for more details on the program.
The program was designed with caregivers in mind but anyone who uses the products is welcome to submit rebate forms. Forms can be printed from the Caregivers Marketplace site or picked up at stores like Kmart or Hy-Vee. However, products can be purchased from any store.
This program has been mentioned at Freebies4Mom, Baby Cheapskate and Be Thrifty Like Us if you want to read more about it.

More Target Diaper Coupons For You
Target has a couple of very nice diaper coupons available right now.
Here is a coupon for $1.50 off any Luvs Diapers at Target. The family packs are on sale at Target through Saturday for $13.99. If you have a manufacturer's coupon, you'll be able to get a great price on diapers.
Here are some Pampers coupons at Target. The one coupon is good for $3 off the purchase of one Pampers and 180-ct Pampers wipes. The other is for $1.50 off the Pampers Splashers swim diapers. Be sure to combine these with the manufacturer's coupons to really save.
Don't forget, the Huggies $5 rebate deal ends at the end of the month, so be sure to take advantage of that deal, too. The rebate deal isn't exclusive to Target, I just thought it was worth mentioning again.

Get a $5 Rebate from Huggies
When I first got the e-mail from Huggies about this, I must admit, I didn't really read it. But then Be Thrifty Like Us posted about it, and I realized I was slipping! Shame on me!
Anyway, here's the deal. Buy three packs of Huggies in a single purchase, then use this form to get a $5 rebate from Huggies. If you don't want the cash, you can opt to get a Lullaby CD or an exercise DVD instead. In order to get the deal, you have to have the UPCs and the original receipt. The offer expires 6/20/2008.
I'm thinking I may just watch and wait... It seems like Target often likes to do deals where you get $5 gift cards if you buy two packages at a time. Maybe they'll do a deal like that before the offer from Huggies expires!
I highly recommend visiting Baby Cheapskate frequently to see the Top Diaper & Formula Deals of the Week and other related baby bargains.

Possible cheap lunch and other low-cost goodies
Sometimes you just need a treat for lunch, I know.
Target is offering free Pizza Hut Breadsticks with the purchase of $1 or more from the Target Cafe. You can get the coupon here.
Also a reminder for those of you with babies: the Luvs diaper coupons for Target expire Friday. Using the $2.50 coupon, you can get a family pack for just $12.50 this week. For a size 4, that works out to 16 cents a diaper!
Money Saving Mom has links for FREE bars of Johnson Buddies soap for your little ones. I was able to take advantage of this deal at Walmart yesterday, but I heard it also works at Target.
Money Saving Mom also says that the Post Honey Bunches of Oats Chocolate Clusters coupon has been reset AGAIN! I was able to print out three more coupons. Take them to Walmart and get 20 oz boxes of chocolaty goodness for 24 cents each! I've gotten 11 boxes of this stuff for a grand total of $2.64!!!!
Also at Walmart... use the $3 off Glade Scented Oil Warmer Kit coupon from the March 16 Sunday paper to get one for FREE (plus 53 cents overage!)
Happy shopping!

February is about Luv(s)
Sorry... can't resist lame word plays.
Anywho... Now's the time to save on Luvs diapers at Target. Here is a Target coupon for $1.50 off any pack of Luvs diapers. You can print as many as you need but you need to hurry because it expires February 8th. Use them to buy two family packs of Luvs and get a $5 Target gift card. Combine this deal with manufacturer coupons and save more. A great time to stock up, if you need diapers.
I also got a coupon in my inbox today for $5 off any three jumbo packs of Luvs at Target. While, this can't be combined with the above deals, it could still be combined with manufacturer coupons. This coupon doesn't expire until March, which makes me suspect jumbo packs may go on sale later this month.

A night out... and a free tote bag
Last night my husband and I had a date. We went out to dinner and then went to the KAXE annual meeting.
It was a good time. I especially liked that my name tag labeled me as the Northern Cheapskate. It's a label I'm still getting used to wearing, and it felt good.
I've said it before... KAXE is a GREAT radio station (and not just because they give me and my husband a lot of air time!). Last night was further proof of what a great organization they are.... I'm only on the air a couple of minutes a week, but everyone there makes you feel like you are an integral part of the operation. I've never been so appreciated as a volunteer before.
Oh, and I got an awesome free tote bag. Way cool. It's huge.
But anyway.... of course, a night out sans kids also means a chance for me to run a few errands sans kids, so I made my husband go to Target. I was able to stack some manufacturer coupons on top of Target coupons on top of some clearance items, so I was able to stock up on a few things. I got 10 boxes of 3-in-1 Electrasol dishwasher tablets (20 count) for 64 cents each (normally $2.89 a box). I got a 24 count bottle of extra strength Tylenol for 49 cents and a bottle of children's Tylenol for $2.99 (normally $5.50). I also found boxes of size 6 diapers (Huggies and Pampers) on clearance and was able to get them for 18 cents a diaper. (Normally they run about 30 cents a diaper for that size).
So, I had a great shopping trip, and a great evening with my husband!

Keeping "tabs" on products
The other day I went to put a diaper on my son and discovered that it was missing a tab. So aside from taping it, the diaper was completely useless. I was just going to let it go, but then I thought, "Hey, I have three kids in diapers. I NEED every diaper in this package."
So, I called Huggies and told them what happened. They apologized, asked for some information and promised to send me some coupons to "Compensate me for my inconvenience."
In today's mail, I had a coupon for $3 off any Huggies product, and two $1 off coupons for any Kimberly Clark product., and an apology note. Sweet!
I don't usually call and complain to companies. But when I feel there is a significant problem, I almost always do. For example, I got a $50 gift card and phone call apology from Sears following a really awful repair situation I had a few years ago. We had a set of Playtex bottles that didn't have any holes in the nipples (poor baby!!!), and I got coupons for replacements and other products. I also got a coupon for a free jar of Kraft Miracle Whip because I couldn't get the jar open. (Eventually I did, but SHEESH, it shouldn't have been that hard... I mean, what if I was an old person - I could have died trying!)
Anyway, the bottom line is that YOU are the customer, and if you don't say anything, how will they be able to improve on their product or service? So speak up, and you may be rewarded with better products and maybe some savings.

A good shopping trip
Yesterday my mom took me to Target (still not allowed to drive a car yet). It was nice to get out of the house. I had quite a few coupons (a total of $28 worth) and so I got some good deals. I like to document my savings because it keeps me motivated and reminds me of what I can do by spending a little time clipping coupons and printing coupons off the Web.
Here are some of my deals:
- Gerber Rice Cereal - 16 oz package - $0.69
- Huggies diapers size three - 16 cents/diaper
- Huggies diapers size six - 26 cents/diaper
- 12.9 oz can of Similac Advance formula $5.19 (normally $13 a can).
- two, 2-oz bottles of Purell hand sanitizer (perfect for the diaper bag) - FREE
If you haven't looked at yet, check out CouponMom's website. It can really help you find great deals on things.
