What the Cheapskate is Reading

I believe John Lennon said, “Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans.”   Boy, was that ever the case for me this week!  I had many fabulous plans for the blog, but instead, I had to send my computer out for much-needed repairs.  I was able to do my posting using a variety of computers I could get access to… varying from the one that takes 30 minutes to boot up to the one that kicks me off after an hour (at the library).

I was also able to get in some reading this week, thanks to my iPod, so I wanted to share with you some of my favorite reads:

Sometimes dinner doesn’t go as planned, and then  you realize it’s not so bad.  Read Food Disasters into Triumphs at Feral Homemaking.

Savings Bonds are going paperless.  Read Say Goodbye to Paper Bonds, Say Hello to Electronic Bonds at Free from Broke for a better understanding of the pros and cons of the system.

I don’t know any ladies who enjoy wearing pantyhose.  But that doesn’t mean they don’t have a purpose. Wise Bread has an excellent list of 20 Household Uses for Pantyhose.

Moneywise Moms has an important message this week: Stop.

If you’re thinking about your family photo for the Christmas card, you may want to read 4 DIY Photography Backdrop Ideas at I Heart Faces.

And finally, I have another post over at Life..Your Way.  Read How to Shop Intentionally for tips on making sure you keep more of your money.

Here’s to a great week!

Another use for pantyhose I just learned a couple months ago: rubbing them lightly on a garment will remove deodorant residue. Yay!

I love that John Lennon line! My computer has needed some repairs (the screen is a bit wonky) but I can’t find the time yet to bring it in.

Thanks for the mention of my electronic bond article.
