Dear fellow frugal friends,
I need some advice.
A gal I work with is getting married in June and I am invited. I like her, I am lucky enough to like the people we work with and so I am going. It might even be fun.
I was shopping the other day and saw a beautiful vase. Since it was at a thrift shop, the only things I can tell you for sure is that:1) it is hand crafted in Romania (or so the sticker says) 2) it is large enough to be impressive and lovely enough to be a good wedding gift and 3)it was the right price (for the sake of argument, let’s say it was 6 bucks).
Here is the part that I need help with….. how do I wrap the darn thing? I don’t want the wrapping to discount the vase as it really is nice. A gift bag isn’t substantial enough because one little bump would chip the rim. A box would be perfect but all the boxes I can think don’t do it justice.
What kind of box can I use that will protect it and not give away that I am, ah, cheap? Or won’t cost more than the vase itself?
