Networking for nada
Our dear friends at KAXE teased my hubby the other day about what the "Northern Cheapskate" might get someone for his birthday.Well, I can tell you that I did buy Aaron nice Christmas and birthday presents (on sale, of course), but I admit that I did get him one thing that was FREE (plus shipping). My hubby is the king of networkers. He is always connecting with new people and some of those connections have allowed him to do some really cool stuff. So for Christmas, I went to VistaPrint, and got … [Read more...]
Scrapbooking without breaking the bank
About six years ago, a dear friend of mine introduced me to scrapbooking. I was instantly hooked... and the scrapbooking stores loved me. My initial foray into scrapbooking was definitely NOT a frugal time in my life. Of course, I didn't have kids yet either, which is probably a good thing or I would have gone bankrupt! Two years ago, I discovered digital scrapbooking. Since the twins have been born, I have gone completely digital and I don't know that I will ever go back to traditional paper … [Read more...]
Keeping "tabs" on products
The other day I went to put a diaper on my son and discovered that it was missing a tab. So aside from taping it, the diaper was completely useless. They apologized, asked for some information and promised to send me some coupons to "Compensate me for my inconvenience."In today's mail, I had a coupon for $3 off any … [Read more...]
Sign Me Up for Bargains
One of the things I have done that has helped me save money is signing up to be on companies' e-mail lists. Companies will send you links to information, recipes, and most importantly, coupons! I've also gotten a lot of tips on big sales and free shipping offers by doing this.I've added another favorite to my list of blogs - iMommies. Today iMommies posted about … [Read more...]

A year ago there were two
One year ago today, I had the ultrasound that showed I was having not one, but TWO babies. When you find out you're having twins, you feel a mix of emotions. You feel doubly blessed. You question why you bought a Ford Focus. One of the best pieces of advice came from a friend of mine, who suggested finding which businesses have programs for parents of multiples. I did some web research, and with a few phone calls and letters, snagged some great stuff for the babies. Here's a list of some of … [Read more...]
