Happy Holidays From Northern Cheapskate

By Justin Weinger Leave a Comment

The best way for a person to have happy thoughts is to count his blessings and not his cash. " - Author Unknown I hope … [Read more...]

Have a mentioned what a long winter it has been? I just wanted to let all of you know that we'll be slowing down a bit around Northern Cheapskate this summer. We survived a variety of challenges and got things done.  And behind the scenes, we made some improvements to Northern Cheapskate (a new web host and a new e-mail provider) that will make visiting Northern Cheapskate … [Read more...]

Happy 5th Birthday, Northern Cheapskate!

Happy 5th Birthday, Northern Cheapskate!

By Justin Weinger 9 Comments

It seems like it was just yesterday that I cradled my mouse in my hand as I oh-so-carefully pressed the "publish" button for the first time.  And now, more than 3,000 posts later, my little blog is turning 5! When I started Northern Cheapskate, I really wanted only two things: To stay on track financially as we adjusted to me becoming a stay-at-home mom.  Keep my brain from turning to mush as a stay-at-home mom of three boys under the age of 3. I never expected this little hobby of … [Read more...]

We've made some changes in the way we deliver our e-mails and RSS subscriptions. On Friday, we made the switch from using Feedburner to a service called FeedBlitz.  The reason we made the switch is to offer a more reader-friendly edition of Northern Cheapskate and to ensure delivery of our updates in a timely manner.  It will also give us the option to offer some additional services in the future like a weekly newsletter or e-mail alerts for special offers. We truly appreciate all of our … [Read more...]
