On hot days, there is nothing I like more than a cool treat. Preferably a cool, sweet treat. Come to think of it, I pretty much love cool, sweet treats all year round. I’ve been known to buy ice cream when it’s -20ºF outside.
That’s why I always love it when I start to see sales on all my favorite treats. And I love it when I get to give away tasty treats!
Just check out this sampling of deliciousness you can find in the freezer section right now:
Fruttare bars. These are sweet and delicious and come in two varieties – Fruttare Fruit and Milk Bars and Fruttare Fruit and Juice Bars. These are made with fresh fruit (and the Fruit and Milk bars are made with creamy milk). They’re great for those looking for something sweet, but not chocolate.
MAGNUM Gold. Oh. My. Goodness. The MAGNUM Mini Double Caramel Ice Cream bars are big on flavor with a magnificently indulgent mixture of vanilla bean ice cream, sea salt caramel, and Belgian milk chocolate. These are fabulous!
Breyers Blasts! For those of you who can’t decide whether you want candy or ice cream, why not have both! You’ll get Breyer’s yummy ice cream with delicious mix0ins like Girl Scout Cookies Thin Mints or M&Ms. And there’s even a Lactose-Free variety.
Good Humor will help you celebrate with the Good Humor Birthday Cake Bar featuring cake flavored ice cream surrounded by light vanilla ice cream and coated with cake crunch. And make sure to pick up some Reese’s Peanut Butter pumpkin-shaped ice cream bars for the fall!
Popsicle. Check out the new Yosicle Swirlz featuring chocolate and vanilla and strawberry-banana, as well as Popsicle Hello Kitty Fun Bunch ice pops. Or stick to the classic Popsicles – which are always a favorite in our house!
Klondike. Oh… what I wouldn’t do for one of these! Klondike bars come in 11 awesome varieties, as well as 4 delicious flavors of ice cream sandwiches (my boys love the Oreo ones) and Choco Taco treats. There is even a sugar-free option for those watching their sugar intake.
Now, I will admit that the cheapskate in me often sticks to the cheapest ice cream in the biggest container I can find. But I love to splurge on these specialty types of treats because they simply taste so much better.
They also allow you to have some portion control. I would much rather have one amazingly awesome sweet cool treat (like the MAGNUM Mini Double Caramel ice cream bars), then regret eating 1/2 carton of mediocre ice cream in a single sitting. Wouldn’t you?
It’s worth it to me to find find a coupon (or two) and a great sale so that I can really enjoy a cool treat on a hot day.
