If you are like me, you have been collecting juice lids thinking they would be great for some kind of project but you just didn’t know what. I have done a few other projects with them before that I will share with you at the end of this post, but for now I have 4 ideas to share with you here on Northern Cheapskate.
My first idea is to make this vertical name plaque. The only thing I bought for this project is the sticky back scrap booking paper and of course it was on sale! I already owned the punch (but you could easily cut out a circle with some scissors) and had puffy paint, glue and ribbon leftover from other projects.
To start, I punched out the paper, peeled the back from it and adhered it in to place. I let my son pick out the paper since this was something I was making for his room. Then I used puffy paint to write on the letters. Again, I let him pick from the colors we had since it was for his room.
I let the paint dry for 24 hours before handling to make sure it was cured nicely and then measured the ribbon for cutting to find my desired length and glued each lid on to a long piece of ribbon.
My next idea is to make a memory game out of juice lids. I bought some stickers that I knew my son would like and let him create this whole project.
He found matching stickers and placed them on the juice lids and when he was finished creating his game, he turned them all over and began playing. It was a great teaching opportunity.
My third idea is to use a metal punch (or use permanent markers to write on it if you don’t own a punch) to make garden markers.
Then use some metal wire or cut a metal hanger to size and decorate if you wish and place in your garden.
Finally, my fourth idea is to make a magnetic sign for your dishwasher. Either reuse an old magnet or glue a new one on the back to a painted juice lid. I wanted mine to be bright and visible, so I painted each half a different color and wrote “Dirty” and “Clean” on opposite sides. You can move the magnet so that the status of the dishwasher is upright. Now there are no excuses for family members to say they didn’t know if the dishes in the dishwasher were clean or dirty.
Other crafty ideas I have on Save Green Being Green to use juice lids are to make:

Your Turn: Do you have any ideas to share of how to reuse juice lids?
