I like getting free stuff. And I like it when companies reward me for purchases I regularly make.
Now, I’m not talking about credit card rewards… that’s a whole other thing entirely. I’m talking about when you buy something and you get a code or a stamp that you can use to earn goodies.
I know that these little rewards are usually built into the purchase price of the things I’m buying… But sometimes I just turn that little voice off and enjoy the bounty that comes my way.
Here are a few of my favorite customer rewards programs:
My Coke Rewards. We still buy soda in our house. And I’m still fighting the battle to give it up. It’s really hard. Collect the codes for My Coke Rewards and you can get everything from magazine subscriptions to movie tickets to free Coke products.
Pampers Gifts to Grow and Huggies Enjoy the Ride Rewards. If you have kiddos in diapers, these two programs are excellent ways to earn things like gift cards, free photo prints, toys and more. You’ll find the Pampers Gifts to Grow and Huggies Enjoy the Ride Rewards codes inside packages of diapers, wipes and training pants. The best part: You can get free codes for Pampers and Huggies, so you can rack up even more points to get more free stuff.
Papa Murphy’s. If you’re part of the Take ‘N’ Bake Club, you’ll get a free large one-topping pizza after you’ve purchased a total of 12 pizzas at Papa Murphy’s. (I’m not sure if this is a nationwide promotion, but I think it is available throughout Minnesota). If you eat a lot of pizza or throw a couple pizza parties for your friends, it doesn’t take long at all to get your free pizza. You can also get a free tub of cookie dough during your birthday month if you sign up for their e-mail club.
Store loyalty programs. One of my favorite places to shop is my local bakery outlet. My Sara Lee Bakery Outlet rewards customers with a stamp on their loyalty card for every $5 spent at the store. (Saturdays are double stamp days!). When you get 20 stamps, you can select $5 worth of products for FREE. I love it when a great deal is made even better! Many grocery stores and clothing stores offer similar rewards programs, so be sure to check those out. Just make sure they don’t have an annual fee!
Walgreens. Watch those sale fliers, because every week Walgreen’s offers Register Rewards for select purchases. The Register Rewards can then save you money on your next purchase at Walgreens. Often these deals can be combined with coupons to make an item free… or even make you money!
Ebates. My very favorite way to shop online! Ebates is an online shopping portal that allows you to earn cash back on your online shopping purchases. And they often offer special savings and free shipping, too.
The key to making these rewards programs truly rewarding is to remember not to buy things just to get the rewards. Shop smart (like you usually do) and then enjoy the benefits!
I don’t get to a mall very often, so I’m sure there are some programs I’m missing. What are some of your favorite customer rewards programs?
