Free Online Storytime: Pinkalicious

By Justin Weinger 2 Comments

PinkaliciousHear favorite children’s stories read by authors and celebrities for free at Barnes & Noble.com.

Each month, Barnes & Noble.com shares a different story read by an author or celebrity during its free Online Storytime.  Your child will be able to listen to the story and see the illustrations from the books as the story is being read.  It’s a simple way to entertain your child if you just can’t make it to storytime at your local library, and unlike the library, you don’t have to be there at a certain time!

This month’s featured story is Pinkalicious by Victoria Kann and Elizabeth Kann.  The book tells the story of Pinkalicious who loves pink, especially pink cupcakes. Her parents warn her not to eat too many of them, but when Pinkalicious does . . . she turns pink!  This is a fun story for the little girls in your life.

You can also access past online storytime selections.  My boys especially love “Smash Crash,” but I’m pretty partial to “Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day.”

You may have missed this with your boys, but this is a hugely popular book among preschool girls. There’s a free party at Borders (they say crafts and games) next Saturday, Feb. 12, for the release of the next book in the series, and it will also be a play this spring at the Stages theater in Hopkins, Minnesota.

I had no idea Pinkalicious was so popular, but I’m learning! Thanks for the info!
