This unscheduled “Get it done” post is brought to you by my local hardware store, my happy neighbors and a Phillips screwdriver.
Does it ever happen that you are doing a little web surfing during the commercials of your favorite TV show and SPLAT! You end up right in the middle of a bunch of information you can’t live without and didn’t even know existed? It happened to me about a week ago.
For some reason I took a look at a blog I hadn’t read in a long time, The Art of Doing Stuff. And what to my wondering eyes should appear, A POST ON FIXING A SLAMMING SCREEN DOOR!
My front screen door has been slamming since I moved in. People who come over to visit often comment on it. I would just shrug and say “Well, don’t let it slam then.”
I had NO idea that it could be fixed! So, I followed the directions she gave on the blog and checked the closer thing. I found that there was no screw at all. I took the screw out of another door, put it in and it worked!
I took the screw down to the local hardware store, got me another one just like it and put all them screws back where they belonged when I got home.
Fixed, just like that.
