If you do, we have some important information for you!
Google will be terminating Google Reader on July 1, 2013. That means that if you haven’t switched to a new RSS reader service before then, you could miss out on updates from us.
There are a few ways to make sure that you stay connected to Northern Cheapskate:
Subscribe to Northern Cheapskate by E-mail
Subscribe to Northern Cheapskate by e-mail and you’ll receive an e-mail update Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and noon with our latest posts. You’ll also receive a free e-book The Northern Cheapskate’s Guide to Saving Money on Groceries just for signing up. This is a great way to follow your favorite websites. You can even create a filter in your e-mail account to channel all of your blog e-mails into a single folder for your reading enjoyment.
Subscribe to Northern Cheapskate via Feedly
There are many different alternatives to Google Reader on the market, but my personal favorite is Feedly. It is easy to follow Northern Cheapskate on Feedly and transfer all of your subscriptions from Google Reader to Feedly. You can even customize the look of Feedly to look and act like Google Reader. Plus there are smartphone apps available. Of course, there are other alternatives to Google Reader worth checking out, too. If you’re not sure what you want to switch to just yet, I highly recommend logging into Google Reader before July 1, 2013, and backing up your subscription data to your computer. This will allow you to upload your data to the service of your choosing at a later date.
Follow Northern Cheapskate on Social Media
And last, but not least, you can continue to see updates from Northern Cheapskate on social media. Follow us on Facebook, Google+ and Twitter for all the latest updates from Northern Cheapskate. We sometimes post things that don’t make it on the blog, so even if you’re a subscriber to us by e-mail or RSS, you’ll want to follow us on social media, too!
