I love to cook… when I have time. But when life gets hectic, I am so tempted to eat out. In fact, eating out is a huge weakness of mine, even when I can see exactly how much eating out is costing me.
Since I know this is a weakness, I know that I need to find ways to make meal prep and planning easier. I know that I need to find a way to make meals ahead of time so that I can turn to the freezer instead of the phone for a meal.
My friend Erin Chase (a.k.a. The $5 Dollar Dinner Mom) has saved me so much money in this regard. Every meal she plans is affordable, easy to make, and tastes great. I have all three of The $5 Dinner Mom cookbooks and some of our family’s favorite recipes are hers.
She just released a new set of recipes designed to make meal prep and planning cheap and easy that looks fabulous.
The latest collection contains 11 different “Freezer to Slow Cooker Recipes” that require minimal prep. You’ll use those 11 recipes to make 20 different meals for just $160 that you can keep in your freezer and then thaw in the fridge overnight to dump into the slow cooker the next day.
You’ll get chicken, pork, and beef recipes along with tips for how to save on ingredients. The recipe set also includes modification ideas for those on gluten-free, Whole30 or Paleo diets.
The recipes come with detailed shopping lists, instructions for assembly, and even a video to show you how easy it is to get 20 meals ready in under two hours.
But what about lunch?
As a special promotion, Erin is including a lunch menu plan when you buy now.
The lunch menu plan includes 10 freezer-friendly make-ahead lunches with shopping lists, 5 mason jar salad recipes, lunch meal planners, school lunchbox ideas, and two videos that will help put together your lunches and even get your kids to pack their own lunches!
What will it cost me?
The Dinner and Lunch menu planning collection is available for just $10. For less than the cost of a take-out pizza, you’ll be able to make delicious, healthy, low-cost meals that you and your family will enjoy.
And that’s what I love about Erin’s recipes and meal plans. She doesn’t just give you the recipes… She teaches you how to save time and money on every meal so that you can spend your time and money on more important things.
Go ahead and check it out for yourself. I think you’ll see it’s well worth the $10 and it will make dinner and lunch planning cheap and easy.

These are all great. I have been looking for recipes online and seeing what I can do on the weekends to prep for the work-week lunches – grab and go meals. Wife found a great breakfast burrito recipe too that I tried and have been making those. Just freeze em and then have them in the morning sometimes. Anything to make life a bit more efficient :)
