One of my main money-saving strategies is to pay attention to grocery store prices. So I was thrilled to see Cub Foods announce new lower prices on hundreds of items in their stores.

I took a quick trip around my local Cub Foods and was pleased to see plenty of these banners announcing their new prices. Just look for the yellow tags!

New Lower Prices at Cub Foods

Cub has been using its buying power to get better prices on groceries and passing the savings on to shoppers.  And that’s in addition to their weekly specials and coupons!

I saw new lower prices on some fresh fruits and veggies like celery, onions and pears.  And I also saw new lower prices on many products that regularly have manufacturer coupons, like this Ragu pasta sauce, which was 90 cents cheaper than it used to be:

I like to keep a few jars of pasta sauce in my pantry for nights when I need to throw together a quick meal.  Just add some meatballs and buns I found on sale and I’ve got meatball subs for the family in minutes!

The new lower prices also extend to pantry staples like dried beans, pasta (including whole wheat pasta!), and canned and frozen vegetables.  This makes it easier to stock up your pantry and freezer with more wholesome food choices.

The savings doesn’t stop with the new lower prices.   One of my favorite ways to save at Cub Foods is to use the My Cub Rewards loyalty card.  Simply use your computer or smartphone to load manufacturer or store coupons onto your loyalty card and when you swipe your card at the register, your discounts will be taken off your bill.  No coupon clipping required!   And for every $50 you spend at Cub using your My Cub Rewards card, you can save 5 cents per gallon on gas at your local Holiday Station Store.

In addition, I also earn cash back on my Cub Food purchases using the smartphone apps Jingit and Checkout 51.  Both of these apps allow you to earn cash back on a variety of products from milk to cereal to fresh produce and much more by simply scanning in your receipts with the qualifying purchases.

With the new lower prices, shopping with coupons, the gas discount through My Cub Rewards, and the cash back you can earn on your purchases, there are plenty of reaasons to shop at Cub Foods!

Now… if I can just stop my three boys from eating me out of house and home….
