Put down that takeout menu and open up a cookbook: The No Eating Out Challenge starts today!
For the next month, my family is going to attempt eating from home the entire month.
This may not seem like a big deal… but when you’re used to eating out as much as we do, it’s HUGE.
Some of you have expressed some horror at the thought of not eating out for entire month. Here’s my advice to you: Do what you can! Try to cut back on how much you eat out. Perhaps limit it to once a week or twice a month. Even if you don’t cut eating out completely, you’ll still be saving money and doing something positive for your health. Every little bit helps!
The other thing I would recommend is to set a goal. What would you like to do with the savings from not eating out? One of my readers told me she’s going to put the money toward a new TV for their family. What a great way to motivate your teens to join in this adventure!
November is only 30 days. You’ll be eating turkey and all the trimmings for at least 2 days. That means you really only have to worry about 27 or 28 days.
Start planning now. I’ll be checking in to share my thoughts and ideas. Feel free to drop me a line or leave a comment and let me know how the challenge is going for you!
And for those of you who never eat out… I need your help! Send me your ideas for how you deal with the dinner rush at your house!
