If you’ve ever participated in the Salvation Army Angel Giving Tree, you know how it works: You find a Salvation Army tree in a store, take a paper angel tag from it, and purchase a much needed item for a person in need listed on the tag. Then you return your item to the store so it can be given to the recipient for Christmas.
It’s a great way to brighten the holidays of someone who is struggling to make ends meet.
And now, participating has just gotten easier.
The Salvation Army and JCPenney have teamed up to offer the Salvation Army Angel Giving Tree Online.
The new initiative is a a web-based extension of its traditional Angel Tree program and simplifies the process of purchasing and delivering gifts for kids and seniors in need in your community by moving everything online.
You can adopt an Angel in your community, purchase clothing, toys, or other items from their personalized wish-list, and have the gift(s) delivered – all online.
The Salvation Army coordinates distribution of the gifts, and if you order through JCP.com, shipping is free!
I encourage you to participate in this program or others like it. Shop the clearance sales and use coupons to get some great deals and feel good about helping someone else.
