I have a secret to tell you: You don’t need coupons to save money.
Here are ways you can save money without ever clipping a single coupon.
Buy generic. Purchasing the store brands can save you as much as half the cost of a name brand item, and often the generic is produced by the same company as the name brand.
Make your own or grow your own. Learn how to make your own homemade cleaners and mixes. You’ll find that they not only cost a lot less, but they’re better for the environment. You can also save money by planting your own vegetables and herbs.
Buy secondhand. Visit a thrift store, estate sale, or garage sale and score some great deals on anything and everything you need for clothing and home.
Borrow. Visit your local library or swap items with a friend rather than running to the store and buying things.
Freecycle. Need something specific? Ask for it on Freecycle. You may find someone is willing to give you what you need for free.
Shop at a warehouse club. The key to a successful warehouse shopping experience is to know your unit prices. When you know the unit prices, you’ll be able to decipher what is a good deal. Not everything is cheaper at the warehouse clubs, but a lot of things are. Do your homework.
Shop online. Search the internet and you can find great deals on all kinds of goods, including groceries. A few places to check out: Amazon.com and Alice.com. Just be sure you are aware of shipping costs when you order online.
Utilize food co-ops. You can really stretch your food dollar by utilizing programs like Angle Food Ministries, SHARE, and Fare for All.
