Saving on Bras and Underwear

By Justin Weinger Leave a Comment

It’s frustrating to spend money on bras and underwear that hardly anyone sees when it wears out so quickly. Yet, I’ve found that having nice undergarments just makes you feel better about life in general.

So here are a few tips for saving on bras and underwear:

Use gift cards to purchase your undergarments.  Whether you’ve earned them from your rewards credit card, MyPoints, doing surveys, or Swagbucks, it’s a way to treat yourself without sucking cash from your regular budget.

Know how to work a sale.  Many department stores and discount stores have regular sales, and some have frequent shopper cards that reward you for your purchases.  Many times you can find coupons to lower your bill and don’t forget if you’re shopping online, you can use Ebates to earn cash back on your purchase.

Be sure to get the proper fit.  If your bras and underwear don’t fit just right, you won’t enjoy wearing them… and that means you’ve wasted your money.  Many stores like Victoria’s Secret and even JCPenney have sales staff who are specially-trained to help you find the bra that fits you best.  Don’t want to get that close to the sales staff?  You can read how to find the perfect fit here.  Here’s one more trick:  When you buy a bra, be sure it fits best on the outermost hooks.  Then as, the bra loses it’s elasticity, you will be able to adjust the bra to fit better.

Take care of your undergarments.  Be sure to follow the item’s laundry care instructions.  Whatever you do, don’t put bras in the dryer – it ruins the elastic.

Buy the best quality you can afford.  Combine quality with a great fit, and you’ll have great looking, comfortable undergarments.
