If you’ve ever participated in the Salvation Army Angel Giving Tree, you know how it works: You find a Salvation Army tree in a store, take a paper angel tag from it, and purchase a much needed item for a person in need listed on the tag. Then you return your item to the store so it can be given to the recipient for Christmas.
It’s a great way to brighten the holidays of someone who is struggling to make ends meet.
And now, participating has just gotten easier.
The Salvation Army and JCPenney have teamed up to offer the Salvation Army Angel Giving Tree Online.
This program makes it easy to purchase and deliver gifts for kids and seniors in need in your community by moving everything online.
You can adopt an Angel in your community, purchase clothing, toys, or other items from their personalized wish-list, and have the gift(s) delivered – all online.
The Salvation Army coordinates distribution of the gifts. Just be sure to order by December 9 to ensure delivery before Christmas. According to the frequently asked questions, you don’t have to shop at JCP.com for your gift, but if you do, you’ll get free shipping.
This program is an excellent way for those of us who don’t like crowds to help a child or senior in need have a happier holiday season.
