One of the best things you can do to prepare your child for a successful school year is to encourage them to read every day.
Of course, giving them free books to read certainly helps with that endeavor!
Libraries are my favorite source for free reading – and many offer summer reading programs that reward children with a free book for reading a certain number of books over the summer. Don’t forget to check out their amazing free kids programming, too!
One of my other favorite programs is the Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program. Your child can receive a free book (picked from an age-appropriate list) if they read eight books before September 6, 2012.
Be sure to check out this fabulous list of additional free kids summer reading programs. You’ll inspire your child to read and build his or her own library for free!
