If there’s one thing I’ve learned in life it’s that the key to finding success lies within yourself.
You can keep telling yourself, “If I only had more money.” You can keep making excuses for the money troubles you have. And guess what? Nothing will change for you.
Maya Angelou is quoted as saying, “Nothing works unless you do.” and I have found these words to be true.
You must do the work to get the life you want. Only you can take a hard look at your spending and determine what cuts need to be made. Only you can determine what skills you have that could bring in extra money. Only you can change your attitude.
And once you’ve figured out what it is you want, only you can do the work to get there. The good news is there are lots of resources out there (like Northern Cheapskate) and lots of people out there to support you. Look to these resources for ideas, for inspiration, and for hope. But remember, the work is yours alone.
Becoming the person you want to be is HARD. And the road is often littered with stumbling blocks. Each time you hit one of those, you’ve got to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start again.
Because reaching your goals is worth it.
Now get to work.
