I recently had a reader ask me what I do with all of my coupon savings and rebates that I do.
I must admit that I really don’t have a brilliant frugal strategy for what I do with the money I save. It either ends up in our general savings or ends up being absorbed into our regular budget.
But Donna Freedman from the Smart Spending Blog at MSN, has put online banks to work. By signing up for an online bank account, she scored a little extra sign-up cash, and she’s got a dedicated place to stash cash towards her dream.
Her post got me thinking: Would I be more motivated to take advantage of coupons and rebates if I had a dedicated account where the fruits of my labor started to add up? Would it help me attain my goal of paying down our mortgage?
Do any of you have an account like that? What do you do with your coupon savings? I’d love to hear about it!
