Whew! It’s been a busy week around here. All the usual kid, house, and blog stuff, plus I’m now a community leader over at the new Twin Cities Family Community. Thanks to all of you who stopped in and said “Hi.” I also want to remind you that I’m giving away 2 children’s games from Pressman Toys. The giveaway ends tomorrow night, so be sure to enter!
I’ve been bookmarking things and putting little stars by blog posts in my reader for awhile now. It’s about time I share them with you:
For all of you ladies who have been at the fashion mercy of a bride, read How to Repurpose a Bridesmaid Dress at Already Pretty.
I’m becoming more and more reliant on technology all the time… but I just can’t bring myself to give up books. Read 10 Reasons I Won’t Buy a Kindle at Bread Crumz.
I love turning something from trash to treasure. (Or in this case, recycling to treasure). Check out Frugal Upstate’s Tutorial: Coiled Magazine Paper Bowls. I’ve seen similar ones in stores for ridiculous prices.
I’ve been thinking about Christmas shopping for awhile, and so are the folks at Wise Bread. Read 5 Rules for Planning Your Most Affordable Christmas Ever.
Clever, clever, clever: That’s what I think about Simple Strategies for Marking Items at Unclutterer.
Ever caught yourself buying something because you “deserve it.” Well Finances Your Way has 3 Reasons You “Deserve” to Not Spend More.
I’d also like to share with you a brand new database of the top personal finance blogs over at Money Crashers. This database ranks the top personal finance blogs by using a ton of site data, info about subscribers, Twitter followers, etc. I haven’t broke into the top 100 yet, but I’m working on it! A couple of things to point out – If you click on the RSS link next to a site, you’ll be able to see their most recent posts. In addition, you can search by the type of personal finance blog you’re looking for. For example, you can search for the top Frugality Blogs (that’s where Northern Cheapskate is listed), the top Deals & Coupons Sites, top Investing sites, and more. Go check it out!
